1. Electronic Communications and Transactions

In compliance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), Electrical Contractors’ Association confirms:

• Electronic contracts formed through our website are legally binding.

Adhering to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), Electrical Contractors’ Association ensures:

• Customers may cancel transactions conducted via direct marketing within a seven-day cooling-off period without penalty.

4. Credit Transactions

If Electrical Contractors’ Association offers credit or payment plans, we comply with the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (NCA):

• Transparent disclosure of all credit terms, including interest rates, fees, repayment schedules, and total costs.
• Conducting affordability assessments to prevent reckless lending and consumer over-indebtedness.
• Customers have the right to rescind credit agreements within five business days from signing.

5. Cybersecurity

To protect against cyber threats:

• We implement industry-standard security measures, including secure servers, encryption, firewalls, and continuous vulnerability assessments.
• In the event of a cyber incident, we commit to prompt reporting to relevant authorities, including the South African Information Regulator and Cybersecurity Hub, and notify affected parties as legally required.
